City Harvest's 30-30-30 Campaign is our response to the record demand for emergency food in New York City.
Campaign Update: As of April 2013, the Campaign had achieved 52% of its $30 million goal by securing $15.7 million in gifts and pledges from individuals and institutions who believe strongly in our mission to end hunger in New York City.
Research has shown that there is a significant gap between the food New Yorkers need to live a healthy life and the amount of food available in the five boroughs. City Harvest launched the 30-30-30 Campaign in April 2012 in response to record demand for emergency food in New York City and epidemics related to poor nutrition. As City Harvest celebrates its 30th year, the 30-30-30 Campaign will support the following strategic goals over the next four years:
• City Harvest will increase the amount of food we deliver on an annual basis by 30 million pounds, to some 60 million pounds each year, using a new food rescue facility in Queens.
• City Harvest will expand Healthy Neighborhoods to help create access to nutritious food and encourage healthy eating behaviors for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers in communities with high rates of hunger and diet-related diseases.
Read these testimonials from some of the individuals and organizations who have already stepped up to support our work feeding hungry New Yorkers.
Our thanks to those visionary individuals who have already made their commitments to the 30-30-30 Campaign. This Campaign will succeed because of the generous support of donors like those listed here who believe in our work.
To achieve these goals, City Harvest will need to grow the amount of funds raised annually to support this ambitious plan – an additional $30 million dollars by 2016. Now is the time to make a very real difference in the lives of the people City Harvest helps to feed.
