FJC
Since 2004, an anonymous donor through FJC has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of our mission. Whether through challenge grants, sponsoring our restaurant guide, Great Food Good Hearts, or agreeing to co-underwrite our largest fundraising event this year, An Evening of Practical Magic, In 2009, FJC issued a 90-day challenge to new Summer in the City donors to match, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000, their gifts and contributions, ticket sales and sponsorships supporting Summer in the City. City Harvest has always been able to count on FJC.
New York Community Trust
New York Community Trust has generously supported City Harvest’s work for more than 25 years. The Trust has provided vital support for multiple projects here at City Harvest, including Healthy Neighborhoods and our emergency food deliveries. Recently, they underwrote the cost of a healthy eating campaign designed to increase awareness of healthy behaviors in low-income communities. The New York Community Trust was honored at City Harvest's annual gala, An Evening of Practical Magic, in 2009.
Robin Hood
Thanks to Robin Hood, City Harvest will rescue an additional 1.5 million pounds of good food this year and deliver it free of charge to agencies feeding hungry New Yorkers. Robin Hood has been dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty here in New York City for more than 20 years and we’re proud to count them as a partner in the fight against hunger.
Starr Foundation
City Harvest has worked closely with The Starr Foundation, fighting hunger in New York City together for more than two decades. Through efforts like the Feeding America Fund for NYC Hunger Relief and City Harvest’s annual turkey drive, The Starr Foundation generously supports our work to end hunger in communities throughout New York City. The Starr Foundation was honored at City Harvest's annual gala, An Evening of Practical Magic, in 2009.
The Walmart Foundation
With the Walmart Foundation’s support this year,
City Harvest was able to rescue nearly 500,000 pounds of healthy food and deliver it free of charge to our agency partners. We appreciate their generous investment in our work and support their commitment to making healthy food more affordable.
W.K. Kellogg Foundation
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation supports City Harvest’s efforts to improve the food system in low-income communities and ensure that our children have good, healthy school food. The Foundation recently committed more than $30 million over the next three years to nine cities across the country. This initiative is designed to support the creation of healthier kids and communities. Here in New York City these funds will support the Food and Fitness Partnership’s work to sustain and expand the growing movement for healthy food and active living.
