Summer Meals

City Harvest is promoting the use of the Summer Meal program through community partners in our Healthy Neighborhoods as well as our agency network.

The program, provided by the Department of Education, provides free breakfast and lunch to any child 18 years of age and under.  Meals are available at hundreds of schools, pools, parks, New York City Housing Authority complexes and other locations around the city. No registration, documentation, or ID is required. In fact, children don't have to live in New York City or be enrolled in public school to enjoy a delicious free breakfast or lunch.  The program provides a fantastic way for children to easily eat a healthy meal, when school is not in session.
