Truck or Treat for City Harvest is a Halloween initiative for independent schools. Through Truck or Treat, children join the fight against hunger by helping ensure other kids in our city have enough healthy food to eat.
As they collect candy for themselves on Halloween, children at participating schools also collect donations for City Harvest in Truck or Treat boxes that City Harvest provides. They look just like the City Harvest truck! 100% of the donations will help City Harvest deliver much-needed food to the more than 350,000 New York City kids who don’t always know where their next meal is coming from.

City Harvest provides all the materials your students need to participate in Truck or Treat.
- Truck or Treat is fun. Each participating student will receive his/her own change collection box. It looks like the City Harvest trucks that are familiar to all New Yorkers!
- Truck or Treat is educational. Your child is learning about importance of fundraising and helping to fight against hunger.
- Truck or Treat is easy and ever penny counts! Each quarter your students collects will enable City Harvest to rescue one pound of food for a hungry family. Students, parents, and teachers can drop off donated coins at a nearby TD Bank.
- Truck or Treat School Donation Page. Upon your request, City Harvest can create a customized online fundraising and donation page for your school to collect donations.
- Truck or Treat Incentives. If your school raises over $1000, City Harvest will recognize your school in our Fresh News, Newsletter and on our website. For raising over $2000, the school will be listed as part of the Truck or Treat Supporter Circle in future campaign materials.

Schools may also contact Courtney Williams to request that a City Harvest representative speak at a school assembly, parent's night, or other forum about City Harvest's work to end hunger in New York.
