Truck or Treat for City Harvest

It might sound scary, but nearly 25% of New York City kids don’t always know where their next meal is coming from. Make a difference in the lives of thousands of hungry children by participating in City Harvest’s Truck or Treat!

Encourage kids in your community to collect coins as an easy way to make an impact on hunger. City Harvest provides collection boxes featuring City Harvest trucks and other materials to make this a fun and engaging activity. Sign up and request collection boxes for your school or organization.

Reasons to Participate:

  • Food insecurity is a serious issue in New York City. Nearly 1 in 4 children in do not always know where their next meal will come from.
  • Truck or Treat educates children about hunger. And gives them the opportunity to make an impact right here in our city.
  • Every donation makes a difference. Just 26 cents helps deliver a pound of food to a hungry child in New York City!

In 2013, over 50 schools and organizations participated in Truck or Treat, raising over $37,000—enough to help feed over 50,000 hungry families in New York City!

Join us for Truck or Treat this October. Together we can make an even bigger impact on hunger in New York City. To sign up and order collection boxes for your school or organization, please contact Kathy Gu.
