Video Post

1. Wear your City Harvest gear and film a video of yourself responding to this prompt:

“I’m standing with City Harvest this Giving Tuesday because ________________. Donate today and your impact will double.”

Need some inspiration? Here are a few suggestions:

  • The need for food assistance in NYC is the highest on record.
  • City Harvest is stepping up to provide more nutritious food to New Yorkers in response to the growing need for food assistance.
  • 1 in 4 children in our city doesn’t always know where their next meal will come from.
  • This year City Harvest will rescue more than 86 million pounds of high-quality, nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste. By redirecting that food to families, they will prevent the equivalent of more than 25.4 million kilograms of CO2 from entering the atmosphere.
  • City Harvest advocates for policies that end hunger by addressing its root causes.

2. Post your video on social media on December 2 with the caption below, or write your own:

About Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday, an annual day of charitable giving following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is on Tuesday, December 2. On that day and those leading up to it, nonprofits across the country will ask their followers for donations in support of their work, and celebrate the supporters who make their work possible.

Thank you for supporting City Harvest and New Yorkers in need.
