Hunger Action Month

This September, Lend a Hand and Help Us Feed NYC

September is Hunger Action Month, Feeding America’s nationwide campaign mobilizing the public to take action against hunger. We need your help making sure all New Yorkers have access to fresh, healthy, affordable food.

Right now, nearly 1.2 million New Yorkers, including 1 in 5 children, are experiencing food insecurity. Almost half of households in New York City don’t earn enough to cover basic expenses, including food, rent, childcare, and transportation. Many of our neighbors are forced to choose between paying rent and buying groceries. In a city that has so much, no New Yorker should go hungry.

To help us get as much food to as many New Yorkers as possible, one generous donor has stepped forward with $100,000 in matching funds. That means every gift made this month will be matched dollar-for-dollar and have twice the impact. Just $1 helps feed not 1, but 2 New York City families for a day.
