For one night only, 80 of the world's preeminent pastry chefs gathered in New York City for the first time to present a unique tasting experience, benefiting City Harvest.
Including luminaries such as Pierre Hermé, Sadaharu Aoki and François Payard, these elite pastry and chocolate artists are all members of France's renowned Relais Desserts Association, a members-only group of masters representing 19 countries.
Guests mixed and mingled with these culinary masters while tasting their imaginative, expertly crafted desserts from across the globe and sipping delicious cocktails. Guests also enjoyed a selection of savory bites prepared by some of New York's most notable chefs.
100% of the proceeds benefitted City Harvest's work fighting hunger in New York City.
City Harvest presented our inaugural Leadership Summit on November 9, 2015, which brought together thought-leaders, innovators, philanthropists, policy-makers, and practitioners to imagine and debate the possibilities for a hunger-free city of tomorrow.

This year's Summer in the City raised over $315,000, enough to help feed 180,000 hungry New Yorkers for an entire week. The event hosted over 700 guests, who tasted delicious food from over 40 NYC restaurants! The night was topped off by a great performance from Julian Velard.
Thank you to everyone who attended last night's An Evening of Practical Magic and helped to make the evening a record-breaking success! We raised over $3 million in support of City Harvest's work rescuing good food that would otherwise go to waste and delivering it to New Yorkers in need. The live auction, which included an incredible million dollar bid for a dinner party prepared by Eric Ripert with a performance by John Legend, and an unprecedented private omakase dinner for six by master chef Masa Takayama, raised nearly $1.7 million!
A special thank you to our Event Co-Chairs Misook and Harry Doolittle, Lise and Michael Evans, Richard Gere, Joy H. Ingham, Carola and Robert Jain, Pamela and Andrew Kaufmann, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Jay McInerney and Anne Hearst McInerney, Heather Mnuchin, Sandra and Eric Ripert, and Chris Hikawa and David Windreich, who contributed their creativity, expertise and skills to make this night enjoyable and impactful.
Congratulations again to the evening's honorees – Tom Colicchio, David Patrick Columbia and Richard S. Berry – who each contribute to City Harvest in unique ways. We also appreciate FreshDirect and Greiner Brothers Farm who are our Food Donors of the Year. We are fortunate for the commitment these individuals and companies show toward our work.
