Farm Bill 2018: Our Response
Congress passed a bipartisan Farm Bill the week of December 10, and President Trump signed it into law on Thursday, December 20. The bill reauthorizes the nation’s food and agriculture policy and includes the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – the cornerstone of our nation’s nutrition assistance safety net, which is critical in helping low-income children and families get the food and nutrition they need. The bill protects SNAP for working individuals and families by maintaining eligibility without additional harmful work requirements.
We thank our members of Congress for their leadership, and we’re also grateful to all of you who stood with us to advocate for working families in our city and across the country. Your voices were critical in urging our leaders to pass legislation that helps millions of New Yorkers and people around the nation put food on the table.
