On Tuesday, April 25, 2017 New Yorkers from across the city will gather for City Harvest's Evening of Practical Magic, our 23rd annual gala honoring the City Harvest supporters whose efforts have played a significant role in the fight against hunger in New York City.

We are pleased to honor board members Lise and Michael Evans with the Harry and Misook Doolittle Heart of The City Award and Food Council Chairman Chef Geoffrey Zakarian with the Mnuchin Family Award for Excellence. These awards recognize longtime dedicated partners who strengthen the impact City Harvest has throughout New York City.

The gala, to be held at Cipriani 42nd Street, will raise funds to support City Harvest's work and will feature a special night of cocktails, followed by an elegant dinner accompanied with entertainment and live auction. In 2016, the event attracted over 600 people and raised $2.2 million, enough to rescue eight million pounds of food to help City Harvest fight hunger in New York City.

Around the World in 80 Sweets benefitting City Harvest

For one night only, 80 of the world's preeminent pastry chefs gathered in New York City for the first time to present a unique tasting experience, benefiting City Harvest.

Including luminaries such as Pierre Hermé, Sadaharu Aoki and François Payard, these elite pastry and chocolate artists are all members of France's renowned Relais Desserts Association, a members-only group of masters representing 19 countries.

Guests mixed and mingled with these culinary masters while tasting their imaginative, expertly crafted desserts from across the globe and sipping delicious cocktails. Guests also enjoyed a selection of savory bites prepared by some of New York's most notable chefs.

100% of the proceeds benefitted City Harvest's work fighting hunger in New York City.

City Harvest presented our inaugural Leadership Summit on November 9, 2015, which brought together thought-leaders, innovators, philanthropists, policy-makers, and practitioners to imagine and debate the possibilities for a hunger-free city of tomorrow.
