Your Support In Action
![]() | “Everything is so expensive nowadays,” said Nirka, a participant at our Astoria Mobile Market. “I have a son with a disability, and he has to also eat and I don’t have the money to provide, so [delayed SNAP benefits were] a problem for me. I’d rather that my son eat than me. So that was difficult because you have to stay without eating just to feed somebody in your family. It’s not easy.” Between medication costs and rent, “sometimes we don’t have the money to buy food,” she shared. “So, this helps with the vegetables… I am so happy that you guys are here, it’s a tremendous help.” |
