All Hands In.
September is
Hunger Action Month
The need for food assistance in the five boroughs is the highest on record, according to a City Harvest analysis of data from FeedNYC. Average monthly visits to New York City food pantries and soup kitchens this year remain up more than 82% compared to 2019.
As our neighbors across the five boroughs continue to face high costs for food, child care, and housing, City Harvest is stepping up to make sure all of our neighbors have nutritious meals on their tables. This year, we will rescue and deliver more than 81 million pounds of perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste and distribute it, free of charge, to nearly 400 food pantries, soup kitchens, and community programs across the five boroughs.
You can play a critical role in helping to feed our NYC neighbors in need. Join us and take action this month!
