Mobile Markets

Mobile Markets bring free, fresh fruits and vegetables to residents in our Healthy Neighborhoods.

Community members gather in farmers market settings, where they receive fresh produce and participate in cooking demonstrations to learn how to make healthy meals. Our community health partners also offer free wellness programs, such as blood pressure screenings.

We provide over three million pounds of fresh produce – including sweet potatoes, grapefruit, apples, cabbage, carrots, squash, and collard greens – to nearly 10,000 households each year through these markets.

Community Partner Mobile Markets

City Harvest developed Community Partner Mobile Markets as a way to partner with local communities to deliver free, fresh produce free of charge directly to the people who need it. We source food for the Community Partner Mobile Markets and coordinate packaging and delivery of the food directly to the site. We also provide training for community members to manage the produce distributions.

City Harvest serves six Community Partner Mobile Markets across the city:

  • Harlem Children’s Zone (Manhattan)
  • Grand St. Settlement (Manhattan)
  • Fort Greene and Farragut Fresh Pantry (Brooklyn)
  • Ebbets Field (Brooklyn)
  • Pink Houses (East New York)
  • YWCA – Flushing (Queens)
