Repack To Give Back

Thank you for Helping To Feed NYC this Holiday Season

Right now, 50% of working-age households in New York City do not make enough to cover the minimum cost of living in NYC—including basics like food, rent, and utilities—up from 36% before the pandemic, according to the True Cost of Living report. The need for food in New York City continues to outpace pre-pandemic levels. Compared to 2019, average monthly visits to New York City food pantries and soup kitchens this year remain up more than 60%. City Harvest programs alone are seeing nearly 1 million more visits each month than in 2019. The number of visits is nearly as high as at any point over the last three years.

This year, 1,840 volunteers from 58 groups helped to repack 60,800 bags of food, containing apples, pears, stuffing, canned corn, and more, to be distributed to New Yorkers in need, free of charge.
