Meet Our Food Council

Over 80 of New York City’s (and the world’s!) top chefs and culinary experts serve on City Harvest’s Food Council. They are dedicated to spreading awareness of our mission, raising funds to support our work, and donating high quality food to help feed hungry New Yorkers. Geoffrey Zakarian is the Food Council Chair.

Geoffrey Zakarian is Chef/Owner of The Lambs Club in New York and Georgie and The Garden Bar at Montage Beverly Hills. Geoffrey, who is passionate about bringing New York’s restaurant community together to fight hunger, is also Culinary Director of The Plaza and an Iron Chef who stars on Food Network’s Chopped, The Kitchen and Cooks vs Cons.

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically impacted New York City’s restaurant and hospitality community. If you would like to support the chefs and restaurants that support our work year-round, we have compiled a list of our Food Council members’ restaurants that are open for outdoor and indoor dining, take-out and delivery, in addition to restaurants that have set up employee relief programs.

City Harvest means community. From the staff and chefs on the Food Council to the volunteers and anyone who has a donated a dollar or a can of food, we are a community collectively striving to end hunger.
